Home Office Setup

Ideally, home office should get its dedicated room, but since I have a limited space I needed to design the layout and choose the furniture's such that the office will blend with my living room.

After an extensive research and a long journey of trail and error, I came up with a nice setup for my compact home office (located in the corner of my living room).

The item that I like the most is the Brightech Floor Lamp! It’s perfect for a computer desk, it’s tall, gorgeous, has 4-step dimmer and it can last 20 years without burning out or overheating.

Computer screen (150$): I chose the HP 27er 27-in LED Backlit Monitor which is amazing. The screen is bright and the colors are vibrant, it is thin and light and it looks great. My first choice was Dell UltraSharp U2414H 23.8" Inch Screen LED Monitor, but it’s more expensive (it’s actually on sell right now)

Chair (912$): My favorite chair, by far, is Herman Miller Classic Aeron Task Chair. I used it at the office and it was a joy (it’s expensive for a reason). It’s in my wish list in Amazon for my home office. Given the price, you want to go to the closest Herman Miller’s retail store to try it out before you buy it. http://www.hermanmiller.com/Store/Find-a-Location

Desk (85$): It’s super hard to find a computer desk for small space. After multiple attempts I chose the White Glass Computer Desk (31.35 / 31.35), it was simple to put together. It looks sharp and feels sturdy.

When I am sitting on the sofa or my recliner chair, I am using the Avantree Adjustable Notebook Stand which is the best product I’ve encountered in all my days of using a laptop. It is extremely sturdy and well made. It’s reduces the pressure on my neck and I can type easily without tiring my wrists.

Floor Lamp (90$): I chose Brightech SKY LED Torchiere Floor Lamp. It has 4-step dimmer that allows to change lightning volume with a simple touch, where the highest level (3,000 Lumens) blazes brightly enough to be the only lighting source in my living room. It comes with 3 years warranty and it should last 20 years without burning out or overheating.

Keyboard & Mouse: I am using the Surface Keyboard and Surface Mouse. They are a bit expensive (100$ and 50$ respectively), but they work great, they feel great, and they are gorgeous.

Computer and Dock: I am using the Microsoft Surface Book. I’ve been using it in the past year and I absolutely recommend it. I got the version with Microsoft Surface Book 512 GB, 16 GB RAM, Intel Core i7, which works great for me. I also bought the Microsoft Surface Dock, it allows me to connect/disconnect the Surface quickly and it charges the Surface while docked.
